Description
With the Unity Pipeline package (Unity 6.0+), unity command and unity eval drive the Editor directly, and unity mcp provides an MCP server (unity mcp configure <client> writes the client config). unity skill install <agent> installs Unity's agent skills. Unity says it replaces the deprecated in-Editor MCP server in com.unity.ai.assistant. The CLI is free and needs no Unity AI subscription. It runs a local, offline, localhost-only pipeline server and works headless for CI. Distributed as a standalone binary, Homebrew cask, .deb/.rpm, AppImage, MSIX and npm. The docs label it experimental. Latest release noted: 1.0.0-beta.14 (2026-10-21).
