Ships strong defaults but deliberately skips sub-agents and plan mode: add them via extensions or packages. Run it interactively, in print/JSON mode, over RPC, or embed it with the Pi TypeScript SDK. The monorepo also contains `pi-ai` (multi-provider LLM API), `pi-agent-core`, `pi-tui` and `pi-durable`. Install with `curl -fsSL https://pi.dev/install.sh | sh` or `npm install -g --ignore-scripts @earendil-works/pi-coding-agent` (Node.js 22.19+).

**No built-in permission system:** Pi runs with the launching user's permissions; the docs describe containerizing it (Gondolin micro-VM extension, Docker or OpenShell).
